I was such a glutton in LP. Some of the best food I;ve eaten in a long time...
On the first night we ate at Viva Brazil. I have heard of this stle of restaurant before... where you help yourself to salads etc, then waiters bring various meats to your table.
All I can say is wow, the salad bar in itself was spectacular, and the meats.. the MEATS! The lamb and beef ribs were out of this planet!
So that was day 1: dinner. Day 2 lunch involved me visiting Jamie Oliver's: Jamie's Italian. I cannot recommend this enough. The waitresses were helpful, attentive and knowledgable, the menu full of varying flavours. I opted for a aperitif of Prosecco with Orange and Campari. A starter of crispy rice balls with mozzarella and porcini mushrooms. A main of Crab and squid ink risotto, and a salad of radiccio, rocket, pear, walnut and gorgonzola. It was simply devine.
Today we went to GBK, or Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and OH MY GOD, was I impressed. I'm trying really hard not to eat wheat at the moment, but on occaision, I do slip up, and today was that occaision... the Kiwi Burger. Meat patty (cooked to your liking), cheese, salad, beetroot, pineapple, egg, mayo and relish. To this I added bacon. A shared side order of thick chips, home made onion rings (with dipping sauces of garlic mayo and blue cheese). This may very well have been the best burger I have ever had...

Crazy weather= staying indoors.
Spent the day indoors today, following police warnings to do so due to the extreme weather... known affectionately as Hurricane Bawbag... I didn't witness it as such, but everything was closed- bridges, schools, museums etc and winds were topping 90mph.
So I cleaned and ate.
Dinner was inspired by Lord Heston Blumenthal (ie experimental). I had leftover pork belly but didn't feel like roast again, so I cubed it, made a tomato and pesto sauce, some leftover veg, spooned over tortilla chips, added cheese and made an Italiano/Mexican/Porky deliciousness.
Rest of the day was just playing with the new camera... so many features...
